The R.I.T. 900 is a 6.8mm all-aramid,
hollow braid cord that will not
melt. It decomposes at 900ºF.
It knots readily and is easily
stuffed into a pocket or small
bag. Its purpose is as a tag
line to allow firefighters
hands-free operation in
extreme heat or rapidly deteriorating
visibility conditions
while maintaining physical
contact with the outside
team. If a large diameter
rope is desired, our R.I.T.
500 will double as a personal
Escape Rope and tag line. The R.I.T. Line 500 is an 8mm cord featuring an
aramid sheath using Sterling’s unique 40-carrier construction and nylon
core for strength. It has heat resistance to 500ºF due to its nylon cord. R.I.T.
Lines™ meet 500 NFPA 1783, 2001.
