The Tornado Remote Controlled (RC) Bumper Monitor is very compact yet it has a large 21/4" waterway making it the ideal manual turret. Waterway with turning vane has only 19 psi (1.3 bar) friction loss at 500 gpm (1,900 lpm). Maximum operating pressure is 200 psi (14 bar). Elevation range is 90° above horizontal to 45° below. Field changeable elevation travel stops at 45° above and 20° below horizontal. Horizontal travel is 370° (185° either side of a center position). Field changeable horizontal travel stops to give 180° (90° either side of a center position). Designed for field changeable 12 VDC or 24 VDC operation. The Tornado RC comes with factory installed motor control circuits to control horizontal rotation, elevation, and nozzle pattern. The motor control circuits use position encoders and current limiting to protect the drive train at the ends of travel. Unit has waterproof factory installed plug on power wire for easy removal or reinstallation. Knobs for manual override are provided on the horizontal rotation and elevation drive. Electric drives and circuit box are waterproof. Main waterway made from hardcoat anodized ANSI 356-T6 aluminum. Silver powdercoat finish inside and out. Available with Quick Connect inlet for 21/2" ANSI flange and 2" female taper pipe thread. Quick connect inlet allows for quick removal of the Tornado without the use of tools for installations such as bumper mounting where the monitor must be removed to tilt the cab of the truck. Standard outlets are 11/2" NH and 21/2"NH rigid male thread.
