Darley Armor APM™ Gear

Absolute Performance

How does one achieve absolute performance utilizing the same fibers (meta-aramid, para-aramid) used Fusion™ and TenCate Advance™…and not increase the cost 25-50%? The answer lies in Filament Twill Technology™. Like PBI Max™, Armor AP™ is powered by DuPont™ Kevlar® filament in a twill weave. The result is a lighter weight outer shell (6.5 oz.) with improved comfort/flexibility, improved strength and durability, and equal to improved protection.

Improved Durability

Most firefighters agree longevity in turnout gear comes from better tear strength. While some companies try to spin abrasion as the most important indicator of durability, turnout gear isn’t retired from holes due to abrasion. Turnout gear is retired when it starts ripping and tearing from “wear and tear” and UV degradation. DuPont™ Kevlar® filament allows Armor AP™ to resist tearing for a longer period of time than traditional outer shells like Fusion™ and TenCate Advance™…improving durability.

Improved Comfort/Flexibility

Protection and durability are important characteristics of any outer shell…but so is comfort and flexibility. Better comfort and flexibility lead to better mobility. Better mobility can make all the difference in a life threatening situation. Firefighters wearing Fusion™ and TenCate Advance™ don’t need to sacrifice mobility any longer…Armor AP™ is the answer.

H41 Interceptor™ Fire Hood

The H41 Interceptor™ Hood is made with a layer of DuPont™ Nomex® Nano Flex inside that acts as a filter to reduce firefighters' exposure to persistent fireground carcinogens and other contaminants. We've used this revolutionary material sewn between two layers of knit 6.0oz PBI®/Lenzing (20%/80%) to provide the maximum performance for particle barrier filtration, comfort, and thermal & flashover protection.

Lightning X Ripstop 3XL Turnout Gear Bag

The Lightning X Ripstop 3XL Turnout Gear Bag is made to match the look and durability of your turnout gear by using heavy duty RIPSTOP nylon in a golden/tan color variation. This fabric ensures that any punctures don’t turn into a large tear that ruins your bag, plus it’s made to match your turnout gear. Lightning X Products has been improving the design of this bag for over 15 years. It’s large enough to hold all of your turnout gear, helmet, SCBA mask, jumpsuit and other items all while being rugged enough to withstand the abuse that firemen are known to inflict on their gear. It’s large, it’s rugged, it’s reflective all-over and it looks good! Everyone else in the firehouse will be asking where you got it.

Turnout Gear Measuring

Chest

Measure at chest, just below armpits. Bigger is usually better for fit and comfort. Even numbered sizes only (32", 34", etc.) When ordering general sizes, you will receive chest size pertaining
to size charts (See sizing chart pages). For general sizing, the larger of the two numbers in each category is manufactured.

Sleeve

Measure sleeve lengths from the middle of the back from the vertebrae at the base of the neck, over the shoulder and down to the base of the thumb. Longer is usually recommended for better protection. Do not bend arm. If not standard size, an additional “custom” sleeve length charge will apply.

Waist

Measure sleeve lengths from the middle of the back from the vertebrae at the base of the neck, over the shoulder and down to the base of the thumb. Longer is usually recommended for better protection. Do not bend arm. If not standard size, an additional “custom” sleeve length charge will apply.

Inseam

Inseam is measured well up in the crotch area to that point on the foot that is required. Choose a shorter length than you usually wear for a better fit and comfort. Standard inseam is 28" - 30". This is appropriate for anyone between 5'9" and 6'2". For inseams 33" to 36", add 10%, 37" and up, add 20% to shell and liner.

Hips (Ladies Only)

Measure hips at the widest point.

Suspenders (Measuring Instructions Not Shown)

Suspenders are measured from the rear suspender post over the top of the shoulder to the front suspender post. Correct rise pants and rear bib size need to be used.
