With the power to access water supplies like ponds, streams, and swimming pools up to 250’ away, this unit is a game changer in firefighting and emergency operations in remote or rural areas. Capable of generating flows up to 670 gallons per minute or more, this eductor is specifically designed to access static water sources that are challenging to reach using standard drafting techniques.
Use the 5" TurboDraft™ Fire Eductor in a wide range of situations, including tanker fill sites during water shuttle operations, fire scene overhaul, transferring of contaminated liquids, dewatering of low-lying areas and swimming pools, direct fire attack, fire scene water management, and accessing shallow static water.
TurboDraft Operation
Please note usable fire flow amounts will vary based on elevation and hose friction loss. Greater usable flow rates are achievable depending on hose friction loss coefficients or when utilizing a 6” large diameter hose. We strongly recommend conducting field testing to confirm flow rates for each hose configuration. Refer to the Distant Water Source Situation table for baseline numbers.

The values listed reflect the minimum available flow rate in gallons per minute. NOTE: Using 6" large diameter hose line can increase usable flow by decreasing line friction loss. | |||
¹ Theoretical, based on test curves of 9/21/99 and hose friction loss per NFPA® Fire Protection Handbook, 15th Edition, Table 17-7H, actual friction losses may vary depending upon hose and coupling design/manufacturer. ² All flows achievable with 1,000 GPM rated pumper based on NFPA recommended pump curves. Use a larger pumper where maintenance/performance is questionable. ³ Minimum available flow from a water source recognized by ISO for grading purposes is 250 GPM. ISO does not recognize drafting sources requiring a lift in excess of 18' (This is not a drafting device as it operates under pressure.) |
